Yield Management User Guide

1. Overview of Yield Management

This section allows the system to dynamically change prices based on the number of days a reservation is made before the start of the reservation, as well as available occupancy.

2. Setting Up a Yield Management Group

Enter a group name and then select which Rate Plan the yield management group applies to. If the rate plan contains multiple rate rules, you can select exactly which rate rules should be modified by the yield management settings.

3. Adding Yield Management Settings

In the section that says “when the number of days between the booking date and reservation start date is within X number of days to X number of days, and available capacity is between X number of units to X number of units,” set the following:

• Increase or decrease the room unit price by a dollar amount or percentage per day.
• Alternatively, you can set it to adjust the price per day by the number of remaining days before the reservation starts.

You can also set whether this yield management rule should skip rate adjustments, based on your requirements.

4. Understanding Availability Capacity

The following notes apply when considering availability capacity in yield management:

• • Internal Availability Calendar: Calculated based on the total number of active rooms/units in the system.
  • Public Reservation Pages (Calendar Views): Based on the number of units that are part of the reservation page.
  • Public Reservation Pages (Search Mode): Based on the number of units that make up a property.

Public Reservation Pages (Single Unit Page Type): Assumed that total available is one unit.

5. Deleting a Yield Management Group

If you need to delete a yield management group, you will find the link to delete the group at the bottom of the yield management group settings screen. Simply click the delete link to remove the group.
